Privacy Policy
Last updated July 20, 2026
The Long Dog Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a home-based dog boarding business operated by The Long Dog Company, LLC in Canton, Georgia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or book a stay, how we use it, who we share it with, how that sharing happens, and how we keep it safe. If you have questions, email us any time at hello@thelongdogco.com.
1 · Information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your questions, care for your dog, and get paid. That includes:
- Contact details you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, and home address when you fill out our booking form, sign the boarding agreement, or message us.
- Information about your dog. Your dog's name, breed, age, spay/neuter status, feeding routine, medications, medical conditions, vaccination records, and anything else you share so we can care for them well.
- Booking details. The dates you request, notes about your stay, and our message history with you.
- Payment information. When you pay by card, your card details are entered directly into our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only a confirmation and limited details such as the amount, date, and the last four digits.
- Basic website data. Like most websites, our host may automatically log standard technical information such as your browser type, device, and approximate location, used only to keep the site running and secure.
2 · How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your inquiry and confirm or decline a booking request.
- Provide safe, personalized care for your dog during a stay.
- Send you booking confirmations, reminders, drop-off and pick-up details, and updates about your dog.
- Invoice you and process payment after a stay.
- Keep records required for our business, such as signed agreements and vaccination proof.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3 · Who we share it with
We are a small business and keep your information close. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as each one needs:
- Stripe processes card payments and handles your card details directly. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Our form and email providers deliver your booking form submissions and signed agreements to our inbox so we can read and reply to them.
- Our website host stores and serves this website.
- If we ever adopt a pet-care booking platform to manage requests, scheduling, and messaging, your information may be stored there so we can run your bookings. We will keep this policy current if that happens.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person or animal.
4 · How that sharing happens
Information moves to these providers electronically over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Card payments are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout, so card numbers travel to Stripe and never through us. Booking form submissions and signed agreements are transmitted securely to our email inbox. We do not share, trade, or sell your information to anyone for their own marketing.
5 · How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe:
- This website is served over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We never store your full card details.
- Access to your information is limited to the owner of the business, on password-protected devices and accounts.
- We keep your information only as long as needed to care for your dog, meet our record-keeping and legal obligations, and support future stays, then dispose of it securely.
No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6 · Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except where we're required to keep it, such as a signed agreement or payment records). Just email hello@thelongdogco.com and we'll take care of it.
7 · Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8 · Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business grows or the tools we use change. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be posted here on this page.
